The gothic church of Santa María del Pi (pi is the Catalan word for “pine tree”) reserves secrets and legends usually told by its neighbors. It was first documented in 987, but the actual building was built on the of the remnants of ancient temples through the 14th century. The also called Basílica del Pi is located only 5 minutes from Las Ramblas, close to the Jewish neighborhood, in one of the most charming parts of the old city, surrounded by local stores, cafes, bars, hotels and restaurants.
