One of the most important Brazilian guitarists of all times
When he was in Brazil in 2013, Paco de Lucía had to book one night in the southern city of Porto Alegre to listen closely to one of the greatest Brazilian guitarists of all times, the local artist Yamandú Costa. A versatile artist (who brings together in his repertoire rhythms such as choro, bossa nova, milonga, tango or chamamé), perfectionist and tireless, who has received ovations in all corners of the planet. His concerts are masterpieces that portray its origins in a region with strong cultural ties with Argentina and Uruguay.
Recently named for a Latin Grammy award for his album “Recanto”, he will perform for the first time at the legendary Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona, in a unique concert. Costa is one of the great stars of this season of the Mestres al Palau music series, co-produced by the Palau de la Música Catalana / Orfeó Català and the Festival Maestros de la Guitarra.
