Where flamenco and jazz walk together
Niño Josele is, without any doubt, one of the great stars of flamenco guitar in Spain. His career, influenced immensely by jazz, and his great virtuosity have allowed him, over almost three decades, to share record and share the stage with great names in the music stardom such as Enrique Morente, Bill Evans, Phil Woods, Bebo Valdés, Chick Corea and Paco de Lucía – with whom he toured for six years. Corea once referred to him as “De Lucía’s natural successor”.
In his recital at the Palau de la Música Catalana, which he returns to after performing in 2015 with Estrella Morente, Niño Josele promises a unique concert, “in which flamenco and jazz walk together”, interpreting some of his own compositions and great classics of flamenco guitar. This concert is one of the highlights of this edition Mestres al Palau, co-produced by the Palau de la Música Catalana / Orfeó Català and el festival Maestros de la Guitarra.
